Lars Mikkelsen-3-1024x657Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964, is a Danish actor. He has appeared as Copenhagen mayoral candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing,[11 Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third series of Sherlock and the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix as well as Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. He was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011, at the age of 27. In 1995, he was admitted to the National Theatre School of Denmark. He was also featured in The Killing's drama. Then, he appeared in Borgen III and Those Who Kill, which were both highly recognized Danish dramas. He played the role of President of Russia in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in Danish drama Herrens Veje, which aired in the UK in the year 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
